I would never have guessed it!

Well, after another sleepless night I decided to take Gabriel to the ER this morning. I just did not think his doctors diagnosis yesterday was correct. How could a virus be reeking this much havoc on my littleman.

So early this morning we went to the pediatric ER in our city. We didn't have to wait to long to get back and when the doctor came in she was great. Asked all kinds of questions and then told me they would need to draw blood and do a flu swab and strep swab. Immediatly I knew that was NOT going to go over well with Littleman.

The nurse came back with someone else to help her, and they had to wrap poor Littleman in a sheet to keep his arms down (pretty standard stuff). After ALOT of fighting and crying they got it all done and put in an IV. I thought well good, they will figure out what the heck is going on and give us something to help himsleep and send us on our way.

Once they left I had her turn the lights out and he napped for 1 1/2hours :) then the doctor came in. She came in and sat down and said well, his flu swab came back positive....... WHAT? Really? She said yes and then proceeded to tell me this " The only problem is, its not flu season anymore, that he probably has swine flu" HUH... are you serious!!!!

Yes friends, you read that correctly....SWINE Flu...... She then says "The only problem is we can not test him for swine flu because our state has certain qualifications for it and one of them is being admitted to the hospital and he is not that sick thank goodness, but we are still treating him for it."

WOW No way in a million years did I think they were going to tell me he has the swine flu.

So after a round of fluids, we are home and have taken our first dose of TamaFlu. He is still very cranky and mostly wants to be held. Night time is the worst, so keep us in your thoughts tonight.

Please pray for my little swine flu baby, lol sorry gotta try and find some humor in it :)

Here's praying for a fast recovery!

Walking with You, Grace for the Moment

I am very late at writing my post this week, I normally have mine done LOTS earlier :) But its still Thursday :)

Its that time of the week again, where I blog about my sweet precious first born son Keane. This week Walking with you is about how we chose the names of our children.

This is actually a very easy post and kinda of funny how I chose his name.

One day while I was on bed rest, I was sitting and flipping through the channels.. that tends to be what you do alot of when your on bed rest :)... Sorry I digress

Well this video came on of a singer/group called 'Keane' (pronounced like Seen) I thought about how much I liked the spelling of the name but when I first saw the name it looked like it should be pronounce Key An, so it stuck with me and Keane it was :).

I told Glenn about it and he liked the name as well. Michael I actually chose on the day of his birth when asked what we were naming him, and it just came out, Keane Michael, it just seemed to flow so well together. What a beautiful name, for a handsome and special boy! Do you see how we prefer unique names for our kids :) I always was so sad growing up that I had such a simple/typical name and thought when I had children I would name them something unique and with purpose :) So I did :)

Keane Michael - Long Lasting Who is like God,

Matthias Jessie -Gift of God God is Gracious

Gabriel Zephaniah - Messanger God is mighty God has Hidden

So there you have it, how our beautiful boy Keanes name was chosen :)

    Pray request :

that Handsomes new treatments go well and that we see LOTS of improvement!!! Also pray for Littleman as he has a virus that has put blisters on his tongue and throat :(...he's miserable...

    What an Amazing Day!

I have to say I am the most excited Momma around tonight :)...

First let me start by saying our DAN doctor appointment was absolutely fabulous!

Dr.Schneider is amazing! She sat with me and explained how everything he is taking work for him, and how the new supplements she is putting him on should work. She explained what all his previous lab work meant and how we can help him. Now don't get me wrong, I also liked Dr.Bradstreet, but my experience with him was basically, heres what you need to do gave me a list and scheduled our next appointment. Our new DAN is very one on one, and likes to get all the history from you in addition to what you have already given her in writing. She was so thorough and very caring, I liked the fact that she talked with Handsome and told him, We are gonna get you feeling alot better young man.

I felt like she cares for her patients as they are her own, hmmm maybe it has something to do with the fact that she herself has children with autism :).. Probably! We meet for a little over 2 hours and she went over so much with me. I am so excited to start his new regimine of supplements. Here's what the plan is so far :

    Starting this week:

    • Diflucan (to get ride of the yeast overgrowth)

    • Big doses of Vitamin C to help keep him regular

    • Magnesium to also keep him regular

    • Ther biotic (probiotic) to help with the Diflucan

After next week, we add the

    • digestive enzymes AFP

    • Methyl Folate (have to double check on the name)

She told us that after the next two weeks we should start to see big improvements with his stools. That would be a HUGE blessing for him, as he has been struggling with this his whole life, and we may also see improvements with attention span too. Either way, I am looking forward to getting everything started so that we can see what works for my son.

Now on to even BIGGER NEWS...........................

OUR LOAN ON LEND4HEALTH HAS BEEN FUNDED!!!!! YAY FOR MATTHIAS!!!!! We don't have to wait anymore! We get to start all his lab work right away! I am so excited and can't wait to start the process!!!

A special side note to all my lenders on lend4health, Thank you so much for what you are doing for my son! I can't begin to explain how it makes me feel to know that I can help my son get the treatment he needs to start recovering. Please know, that I will forever be grateful to you all and I hope that you will check on his progress here on our blog. I would love to hear from you all! Thank you for making a difference in Matthias' life and future!

Here's to a wonderful week ahead of us!

    Much love to you all!!!
