Dear America,
You really shouldn't believe us.
For example, when we tell the Centers for Disease Control that thousands of us saw our children regress following vaccinations and their response is, "It's just a coincidence," you should believe that it is.
And when we tell the Department of Education that our disabled children are being punched, kicked, suffocated, and locked in closets at school, and their response is, "You're lying so you can sue for money," (even when hidden video shows the way a voiceless child's hands tremble after he's been smacked in the face) you should believe we are.
And when we say to the National Institutes of Health that the rise in autism cannot be explained by a genetic epidemic since a genetic epidemic would be impossible, and their response is, "Let's put more money into genetic research," you should believe they're doing the right thing.
And when we tell the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices that their recommended vaccination schedule hasn't been tested for cumulative safety, and that vaccines aren't as safe as they could be, and their response is, "You're just anti-vaccine," you should believe that they can take a little criticism.
And when we tell insurance companies that our children with autism deserve coverage, and their response is, "No, because your children were born with autism," you should believe that they mean well.
And when we tell the American Academy of Pediatrics that our children have underlying illnesses such as gastrointestinal anomalies, detoxification issues, and autoimmune problems, and their response is, "But autism is a mental illness," you should believe they worked hard on that answer.
And when we ask them to state a preference for mercury-free flu shots for pregnant women and infants, and their response is, "No, because the mercury is safe," you should believe that their proof is solid.
And when we tell federal health agencies that almost none of us have a history of autism in our families, and their response is, "But the rise in autism is due to better diagnosis," you should believe that they know our family history better than we do.
And when we ask, "Then where are the 1 in 100 adults with autism?" and their response is, "Well, they're there, they're just quirky," you should believe that we have thousands of quirky adults among us who spin around, act deaf and scream in pain.
And when we ask the government to look at the unvaccinated kids to see how happy and healthy they are, and their response is, "We're not going to release the data comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated kids. In fact, we're not even going to study it," you should believe that they have nothing to hide.
And when people like NBC's Nancy Snyderman or Dr. Paul Offit tell you that financial or employment or social ties have nothing to do with their stance on "Vaccines are completely safe," you should believe they have a lot less to gain or sustain than we do.
Because now that the number of children affected by autism is at 1 in 100 there's really no reason to ask tough questions.
Yes, our children are dying from seizures, but that doesn't mean we need meaningful research.
Yes, more of our children are wandering off and being found dead in lakes, but that doesn't mean they should be covered under the Amber Alert System.
And true, our children are being kicked, smacked and pinned down to the point of suffocation and death, but that doesn't mean there should be federal laws to protect them in schools.
Truth is, many of our children are living in a silent world, banging their heads violently against the walls and screaming in pain that they can't so much as point to.
And yes, they are terrified of you name it: the "happy birthday" song, smelling a cucumber, the sound of aluminum foil or having someone look at them.
And yes, these things do send them into violent meltdowns where they slam themselves into hard surfaces, gouge out their eyes and run into traffic, but that doesn't mean this quirkiness is a big deal.
And when we tell you, America, that we're here to help prevent this devastating disease from reaching
1 in 50 children
1 in 20 children
1 in your doorstep
And that you should do the research, do your homework, be smart about the ways you can prevent your child or grandchild from having an autism diagnosis, be sure to first read the fine print of...
God we wish someone had told us to do that. We'd give anything for our kids to be healthy, to smile, to have a friend, to be safe, to be okay after we're gone. Where's the time machine? Can we please go back? It didn't have to be this way. Why did we not research everything that went into their bodies? Why did we listen to "this is safe" and trust that? Why didn't we question, and go with our guts, and say no, and do what we needed to make sure they would be okay? Dear God, they deserved that. Dear God in heaven, we just want to crawl inside them and take their pain away, and live this for them. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry. Because what's done is done. We can't take it back, but we can make it so you never have to slam your fists against the wall and scream at the top of your lungs after you've realized you can't take it back
....and know we're not sincere.
And when we beg on our hands and knees for autism to finally be declared a national health crisis,
and for our children to have insurance coverage,
and mainstream medical treatments,
and federal laws and surveillance cameras that will protect them in special-ed classrooms,
and coverage under the Amber Alert System,
and meaningful research,
and a toxin-free vaccination schedule that doesn't clobber their immune systems with 36 doses; more than any other first-world country,
and federal aid,
and care once we're gone,
and the media on their side,
and federal health agencies on their side,
and mainstream medicine on their side...
...know that it's all a bunch of bull.
Because when we ask our government HOW MUCH LONGER will this disaster continue, please know we're only doing it for some lawsuit money, anything to point a finger at, false hope to cling to, and because we're crazy.
You really should BELIEVE your government. We did.
And let's face it, you have to be willing to accept a little collateral damage every now and then.
Please help raise our voices today!!! We need your help!!!!!
Much Love,
