    Brighter Things

So I was giving my Handsome a bath and realized I have not posted about some new progress we have seen. Probably because I was so upset by my unfortunate encounter with Dr.Doright online.

But now on to better and BRIGHTER things :)

First, I have to say thank you to my dear friend Amy :) as she gave me a wonderful gift today on her blog :) I will pay it forward soon :) Thank you for your kind words! Your a wonderful friend to me and always supportive!

Here is the very late pictures of Matthias' new hair cut :)

    Before

    After

Don't you just love it :) Summer time he does so much better with a fade and then by fall his little afro has grown out and looks ADORABLE... So thank you Daddy for taking him to get his hair cut!

And of course I have to post a picture of littleman :)

Just as adorable as his big bro don't you think!

    Now onto the new progress.....

So just two short weeks ago I started Matthias on Nordic Naturals DHA and we have steadily started seeing progress each day. More and More he is saying more words and pointing out things to me while we are driving AND once again today he reminded me to put on my seatbelt (its not that I totally forget, but I always manage to drive away before its completely on)As soon as I started to pull away he says " Mommy put your selt belt off :)" and I thanked him for reminding me :)DHA is so good for his brain :) and it makes Momma happy!

At school they said he has remembered each day to wash his hands with out being promted!!! THAT IS HUGE!!! And did I mention he has gone poop on the potty all weekend and five times here at home!!!!! We're still working on the peeing and consistently pooping on his own.....

His stimming has decreased some as well, we had started to see a HUGE resurge of flapping his hands and it is starting to decrease :)

He is playing pretend with his toys ALL ON HIS OWN with out us prompting him to do it!

Today when I took him to see his OT Miss Nicole, I reminded him over and over through the long ride there that miss Nicole was going to take him and momma would wait in the waiting room for him. When we got there, He immediatly saw Miss Nicole said hello, started to play with a toy and she asked him to go and play and he says to me " Okay mommy take my hand and we'll go play" I reminded him that momma was staying here, and he turned to Miss Nicole and said" Okay bye mommy, lets go!" and they walked away............ I can't even tell you how HUGE that is for Matthias!! Usually he would get anxious and start to stim because the answer I gave him was something he didn't like. But not one word, cry, stim :) I was grinning from ear to ear with PRIDE!!!!

So all in all we are STILL seeing TONS of progress!!!

I will continue to post all of his progress and how things are going :)

School is out for summer starting next Tuesday so pray that we don't get a very over active little boy on our hands :).

    Much Love,

    Thanks for your comment.

I wanted to let you know why I follow your blog... I worked with children with autism for 2 years. They have my heart. They are incredible to me and I adore them. I pray for you when I read it. I'm glad you are willing to share Matthias' story (and your story).
